Born in San Francisco, Sidney Angel Richardson's first trip home found her sleeping in a cardboard box on the back seat of her parent's old, mustard yellow Rambler to her forever happy place, Carmel Highlands.
Sidney was the first of five children raised in a house full of familiar chaos. It was a home where education, politics, music, and the arts were of great importance. These lively topics were discussed in the living room among family and at parties with friends in Carmel Highlands and Big Sur from the late 50’s through the 60’s and 70’s.
Like those conversations, the artist’s paintings are infused with bold colors and shapes inspired by her travels and the love of her home. Her thoughtful compositions reflect a variety of subjects from her detailed plein air land & waterscapes to her colorful still life’s of fruits, vegetables and flowers.
An avid traveler and explorer, Sidney continues to paint, cook, garden and enjoy life with her family and friends on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula, the place she has always called home.
